Recording Diary: Day 3 – Pop, R’n'B, Tamberines and Johnny!
Here’s Johnny! Hi Guys and Gals!
Today was a great day as we finished recording the remaining rhythm tracks! All 12 songs are done. We took our time working on the more pop and “I’ll Come Around”, “Only One Heart” and “Get Away” and experimented on sounds to get some variations to our normal direct rock/blues sound. These 3 songs need a bit more in terms of production as these could be lifted from the CD for promotion and radio. “I’ll Come Around” is a driving pop song that has now be subjected to a reworked bass line that is more melodic than we originally wrote. Thomas, our producer came up with some great ideas for this song and they all worked! As for our R’n'B numer “Only One Heart” this song sounds awesome after we added a tamberine to the percussion part… who would have thought that adding such an instrument would give us the vide we’re after? Very soulful backing on this song! And then we finished with “Get Away”… job done. All 12 songs are finished… tomorrow we’re going to listen back to them and see if there are any parts we should redo as now we’re nicely warmed up and tight!
