Hello KPBers!

Things are hotting up right now as we get ready to record our follow up album to 2006’s “Heavy Pain”. We’re currently looking at various studios and discussing the project with them before deciding where to record the CD. We should know by the end of March where we will record the project and hopefully we can get into the studio in late April / early May to lay it down!

I’ve written 4 songs since Christmas especially for the CD. One if a pop-rock tune that is very commercial. This is a bit of change from our normal blues-rock songs, but I think it’s still very much a KPB song. We’re not selling out! We’re actually looking to produce a music video for this song, but that really depends on how the final version of the song turns out! The other songs I’ve recently written are a slow blues (one you can dance to), a moody ballad and fat riffed based “typical” KPB song. I’m feeling very creative at the moment!

We’re currently rehearsing these and of course there will be few songs from our live set that should make it on to the CD, songs like “Feel The Same”, “Would It Make A Difference?” and “Sorry” will definitely be recorded. We’re aiming to record as many songs as possible within the time frame and then choose the best ones for the CD.

We’ve decided to go for a big production. As a live band we’re known as a power trio but with some of the new songs we want to record with keyboards and a brass section too to add depth and texture to the songs.

Recording a CD is a very exciting, high energy experience. We’re not going to rush this as we need to make sure we’re producing something that will reflect who we are as band, where we are and it needs to capture both our live energy performance and the emotions of the songs. We’re really excited about this project and we’re convinced we’re going to have something special and something that we as a band can be proud of and something that you, the fan, the listener will love!

Once the CD is done we’re going to be organising a tour with our new booking agent Dieter Hanisch. We will be undertaking lots of promotion and looking for official channels to distribute the CD. We want to produce a music video for one song to support the launch of the CD. A new photo shoot will take place in May, so look out for some iconic photos soon. And there will be a range of KPB Merchandise to coincide with the CD release as well.

With all this considered, it’s shaping up to be KPB’s biggest year yet!
