The songs are recorded. The CD mixed and mastered. The music side of the project is now finished. NEW RESOLUTION is ready for delivery, well almost. There is still a lot of work to do before the CD is released.
Firstly, on the 25th August we’re having a brand new photo shoot at a very cool, stylish location in Düsseldorf. I’m not going to say where in case 100s of screaming teenage girls storm the place. The photos will not only be used for the CD but also for posters, flyers, press releases and of course the website. Petra Warrass is our chosen photographer and we’re aiming for stylish band and portrait photos. We’re changing our image towards a more commercial approach, after all we want to hit the big time! This one is a short blog as we didn’t really have much to do today. Joanna Drummond came in to lay some lovely female vocals on the song “Sorry”. It’s sounds super. I also re-recorded the vocals on the song “Only One Heart”. It’s now got more balls! I chose to redo this one again as it was the first vocal I did and now at the end of recording I have a confidence and knew I could do it better. I did. I’m now really happy with the song…. And I mean REALLY happy. It’s a tune!
I can’t believe it’s all over. The recording was fun, emotional, hard work at times and an amazing experience. I really have to thank Thomas for getting the best out of me. We’re now taking a 2 week break before we start mixing. I hope you enjoyed these updates. More news on the CD coming soon. Love from Kris.
It’s the final day of recording. I can’t believe how quick it’s gone! Today I finished off the solos in “Fallin’ Down” and recorded some acoustic parts in “I’ll Come Around”. I actually redorded a little acoustic version of “I’ll Come Around” and maybe this is how we could play the song live. I’ll have to think about that… Anyway this afternoon Rene Schwiers came in and recorded some keyboards and Rhodes on the now epic track “Just Can’t Make It On My Own”. I can’t describe just how good this song sounds. Elmar came in to listen to the recording and we could not stop smiling about this track.
Now we’re done. Packed up and going home! Actually not quite as next week Joanna will come in and record some backing vocals on the song “Sorry”. Then we’re done!
Here’s today’s musical video blog. I’m using my Fender Tele, Tubescreamer pedal and my HotRod Deville Fender amp.

Progress is excellent and I’ve been intensively doing the vocal parts of the songs. I thought this would be difficult and not very enjoyable but I’ve found this to fun. Our producer Thomas has got the best out of me. I’ve learnt so much from him about the approach to songs. He stopped me during the singing of “Sorry” by saying “hey Kris, it’s good, but I don’t believe what you’re singing. Where’s the emotion? You’re meant to be sorry for the things you’ve done”. He got me to visualise seeing an ex-girlfriend and imagine she’s there with me in the studio and I’m singing it to her. Things like this worked so well.
